I went through all of the applications today and couldn't winnow it down to just one, so I actually ended up choosing two students. I am hoping to start working with them next week.
If this goes well I will probably continue to take on more students in the future so we'll just see how it goes.
Thank you to everyone who did apply - I truly was not expecting the decision to be as hard as it was.

GL with the process and keep us updated on how it goes.
Just saw this sticky today (don't look at them as much as the posts)and thought you were waiting till the end of the month to make a decision.
